REQUIREMENT DETAILS
Project Manager - Key managerial resource to develop all key infrastructure technologies for the firm and accelerate the merger of the current Sys Admin and Infrastructure groups to form a team of top flight IT engineers. Must have managed teams for 7 to 10 plus. Strong Technology background with Network Technologies, Infrastructure and Systems Administration
Duties:
-Facilitate organization change.
-Develop and implement training and cross-training regimens to broaden and deepen skillsets of individuals in the Engineering team, establishing a group known for its top flight talent and ability to work well with others.
-Work with management, peers and direct reports to define system requirements for data center and network technologies.
-Perform ongoing analysis of existing technology environment to derive opportunities for technology and process improvement.
-Research and recommend solutions (internal or vendor) for products and services which enhance clients computing capabilities and which are supportable within the existing technology and resource constructs.
-Develop implementation plans for new products and technology upgrades.
-Create project plans independently and with others.
-Manage multiple concurrent technology projects, sometimes in collaboration with non-US teams.
-Participate in technical projects managed by others, usually as a technical lead. Implement solutions following standard project management guidelines and without causing disruption to business processes.
-Ensure firm standards for data security are met in each solution.
-Devise process for operational handoff of new systems to Ops team.
-Ensure the ongoing documentation of all solutions and their relationships to other systems.
-Mange advanced troubleshooting efforts to resolve 2nd & 3rd level technology issues as quickly as possible.
-Participate in generation of root cause analysis for system outages.
-Provide technical consulting to management, peers and third party vendors.
-Attract, mentor and retain superior infrastructure engineers.
-Establish and maintain a high level of morale and collaboration within team and with peers.
-Ensure department processes like change management are followed by Engineering team.
-Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, assuring the firm obtains appropriate solutions and support at optimal pricing.
-Perform customary managerial duties including budgeting, invoice approval, performance management.
-Participate in planned disaster recovery tests and monthly maintenance work.
Skills/Qualifications:
-The firm requires the incumbent to have a strong hands on technical background, with a minimum of five years of advanced hands on implementation and troubleshooting.
-Most recent experience will include at least two years at a supervisory level or above, with demonstrable experience directing the work of others.
-This position will drive the majority of infrastructure work in the firm and as such, the major technologies used by client are listed below.
-The candidate is not expected to have experience with all technologies listed, but should demonstrate deep knowledge of multiple categories.
Technical Skills:
-LAN/WAN technologies and protocols (BGP, OSPF, SSL IPSec, etc): Brocade switches & routers, Riverbed, Netscaler and F5 load balancers, MPLS, internet, Meru/Aruba wireless
-Storage and backup technologies: EMC VMAX and Isilon, Recoverpoint, Data Domain
-Server technologies: Client Blades, IBM, VMWare, SRM
-IT Security, including firewalls/DMZ's: Checkpoint firewalls, VPN, RSA, Multiple and various assessment and detection products
-Microsoft Core Technologies: AD, DNS, DHCP, Exchange 2010, ActiveSync, SQL, SharePoint
-Citrix
-iManage/Filesite
Qualifications:
-Disaster recovery testing and documentation experience.
-Exceptional people and communication skills and able to tailor communication style depending on audience.
-Exceptional problem solving and structured thinking skills.
-Effective management skills directing highly technical engineers to provide an optimal infrastructure which in turn constitutes a reliable, high performance computing environment.
-Must understand the impact of technology on the business and the user community and manage risk appropriately when troubleshooting or performing systems changes.
-Ability to multi-task within an often hectic environment and re-prioritize work to meet changing demands.
-Contribute independently and as a team member.
-Maintain a high level of professionalism and service toward members of the firm as well as clients and vendors via e-mail, voice, and in-person communications.
